Unique multi-faceted Tuareg beads sit with Hana Beach stones, gathered from the Black Sand Beach in Hana, Maui. Their origins are volanic lava rock tumbled smooth by the wonderful ocean waves and then tossed back onto the beach. There has been NO additional tumbling....they come to you as the ocean created them and are a bit rustic in nature. I’ve carefully drilled the stones and then waxed them to give them a semi-gloss finish. The energy and spirit in Hana is profound and almost meditative and this fragile oasis of true Hawaiian culture is a joy to visit each year. The earwires are Sterling Silver. Each pair of stones will be slightly different.

These beautiful faceted beads were created by the Tuareg tribe from Africa, known around the globe for their skill in jewelry making, and especially silver design. These beads are hand-made from authentic Tuareg silver, which is an alloy of silver and copper. The Tuareg are a nomadic people of Niger and surrounding countries. The Tuareg people in Mali and Niger were devastated by droughts and then flooding in late 2005 and immense losses have destroyed their way of life. The once proud culture is only a shadow of itself. These unusual beads rest gracefully with the ocean energy of the Hana beach stones for a winning combination!
