Rainforest Necklace

This stunning and colorful pendant of Rainforest Jasper stands in it’s beauty. What an amazing piece of the earth with shades of the rainforest’s greens and browns showing off it's beauty! This is a limited and rare new stone bead that is mined in Australia. You can see some clear quartz formations within the beads. On the bottom of the pendant is a small rondelle of Arizona Petrified Wood and Bali silver spacers. It’s strung on deep chocolate brown Greek leather; known for it’s smooth finish, consistent color and extra soft & supple texture from the very first time it’s worn and hangs with a silver bail. This piece finishes with a sterling silver lobster clasp and a silver extension chain with two more pieces of Petrified Wood.

Jasper is known as the “supreme nurturer” and a primary “protection” stone. It sustains and supports during times of stress and brings tranquility and wholeness. Used in healing, it unifies all aspects of your life. Jasper reminds people to help each other. Jasper aligns the chakras and facilitates shamanic journeys and dream recall. It provides protection and grounds energies in the body. It absorbs negative energy and cleanses and aligns the aura. Jasper balances yin and yang and aligns the physical, emotional and mental bodies with the etheric realm. It also clears electromagnetic and environmental pollution, including radiation. Psychologically Jasper imparts determination to all pursuits and brings the courage to solve problems assertively and encourages honesty with yourself. It aids quick thinking and promotes organizational abilities and seeing projects to the finish. Jasper is an opaque variety of chalcedony that may also include traces of quartz and opal. Jaspers, however, have so much variation in color and pattern that they are given different trade names to distinguish the stones further. For example, moukaite, leopard skin, silver leaf, and ocean jaspers all look very different from each other, even though they are all members of the jasper family. And to confuse things even more, colors could vary even within each variety. This characteristic variation in color and pattern has earned jasper the nickname “Mother of All Stones.”

Rainforest Jasper or Austrailian Rainforest Jasper is more specifically known geologically as Rhyolite and is becoming more difficult to obtain. Rhyolite, a rock made up of quartz, feldspar, mica, and hornblende, is very closely related to granite. The difference between the two is that while granite forms below the surface of the earth, rhyolite is a volcanic rock that forms when magma is expelled from below the surface of the earth as lava and then cools rapidly. The Rhyolite is a marbled green color with deep burgundy, brown and has inclusions of clear to translucent quartz that allow a view of the interior of the stone. It is known as a stone of resolution and perseverence. It is said to help communication of all kinds, and helps one listen easily and without distorting the message one is hearing. It is also a wonderful stone for meditaiton. Rainforest Jasper balances the Yin/Yang (masculine and feminine) energies. It can help one allow other people into their lives, even if one has been reclusive or solitary. It is also a stone of protection. Physically, Rainforest Jasper is used for cleansing the liver, regeneration, and general healing. It is related to and helpful with the solar plexus chakra primarily, and also the throat chakra.

Petrified wood is ancient wood which has been replaced and hardened by another mineral. The two minerals usually involved in the desplacement activities are agate (chalcedony) and quartz. The “agatized wood” exhibits the properties of agate and chalcedony in addition to providing access to past-lives via meditation with the stone. Petrified wood is a “stone of transformation”, assisting a person to advance to their highest potential. Agate is a grounding stone which helps you to find a better balance between your physical and emotional states. Agate promotes wealth, good luck and prosperity. Length--16 inches with a 2 inch extension chain and with 2 1/2 inch drop on the pendant. Photos show both sides of this particular stone. Each piece will be slightly different due to the nature of the stones but all the pendant stones I have are gorgeous!
